Announcing a New Partnership with Duisport

Crocodile Packaging Announces Strategic Partnership with Duisport

Crocodile Packaging, a leading innovator in sustainable packaging solutions, is pleased to announce that Duisport Packaging Solutions Süd GmbH & Co. KG (DPS) is expanding its portfolio in the field of industrial goods packaging by making a significant investment in Crocodile Packaging. This marks the first step in DPS’s planned gradual acquisition of the British company, along with all its employees.

More than thirty years ago, Crocodile developed the clip crate, an innovative and environmentally friendly solution for packing and shipping industrial goods. The Crocodile clipped crate system, widely used by DPS, is considered best in class. This system utilises a unique flexible fastening method, allowing crates to be assembled and disassembled quickly and safely using spring steel clips. Users benefit from faster assembly times, significant savings in storage and transport costs, and safe, tool-free assembly. By using the crates as reusable packaging in recycling and pooling systems, the Crocodile clipped crates can increase sustainability with greatly reduced shipping volume when dismantled. The possibility of reuse and easy recycling also significantly reduces overall CO2 emissions.

Quentin Philip, Managing Director of Crocodile, stated: “We are delighted to be working with Duisport and look forward to developing our already excellent relationship. Our partnership will enable Crocodile to offer a variety of new benefits to our existing customers as we work with Duisport in Europe. Equally, we look forward to supporting Duisport in serving its existing customers who have facilities in the UK. Together we have a great opportunity to improve packaging across Europe with our unique packaging solutions in a truly sustainable way.”

Christian Staudner, Head of Industrial Logistics at the Duisport Group, added: “The gradual takeover of our partner Crocodile, with whom we have been working together in a spirit of trust for many years, is an important building block in the further development of the packaging solutions division. Entering the UK market opens up numerous opportunities to expand our existing customer business in North Rhine-Westphalia and Germany. In addition, we are not only gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the areas of design and sales but can also now open up completely new market potential for the future.”

The Industrial Logistics division of the Duisport Group is divided into the ‘industrial solutions’ (packaging and plant logistics) and ‘packaging solutions’ (production of packaging systems) divisions. The ‘packaging solutions’ division, like Crocodile, specialises in the production of highly innovative and, in particular, reusable packaging systems. Customers from the energy, technology, transport, and plant engineering sectors, amongst others, receive packaging systems manufactured with millimetre precision for their high-quality products, including CNC-milled interior fittings and foam inlays.

The acquisition of the shares in Crocodile Packaging Ltd. was facilitated by the auditing firm PKF Francis Clark UK and the law firm Dentons UK.
